Preparing for Prom 2015
For high school students, prom may seem like it’s still years away. They're still focused on studying, sports, and everything else that consumes high school students. But parents know that many proms are in late April or early May, which means there’s only a couple of months in which to pick out a tux, decide on a corsage, and make all the other arrangements that prom entails. For parents of young men, now is also the time to start looking for a tuxedo.
Modern tuxedos come in a variety of different styles, so you’ll want to get an idea of what’s out there before selecting one. Here are a few of the different categories you’ll want to check out.
Designer Tuxedos
These tuxes are made by some of the biggest names in fashion. They’ll look great, and they’re very stylish. Young men who want a tux that’s going to fit in all the right ways and doesn’t look like it came off a discount rack may want to reach for one of these outfits designed by people like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. One popular option is the Ferrecci 2 button black tuxedo. It’s a nice classic black tuxedo with notch lapel that’s sure to make a great impression.

White Tuxedos
White tuxes are popular with grooms, but they also work for prom. These tuxes come in a variety of looks. Some are completely white, while others have black lapels and other accents of color. It’s even possible to find white tuxedos with lapels that match the dress of the young man’s date. Take this white tuxedo with rose color lapel for example. It would perfectly compliment a young woman’s dress of the same rose color.

Colored Tuxedos
While black is traditional and white is modern, color shouts “look at me!” For those young men who want to stand out at their prom, there are tuxedos that come in every color imaginable. For those who want to stand out, but not look too crazy, pairing something like a red tuxedo jacket with black pants and a black bow tie can be a great look. But for those who are fully committed to their favorite color, it’s possible to get a tux, shirt, vest, and tie all in the same shade. For example, this orange tuxedo includes orange tux, orange tuxedo shirt, vest, and tie. There are even matching shoes available!

Novelty Tuxedos
For guys who want to take it one step further, there are some novelty tuxedos. Some of these are designed to resemble tuxedos worn in popular movies or TV shows, while others are made to get a laugh or to let people really show off their personality. For example, the camouflage tuxedo with Mossy Oak tux, vest, and bow tie is perfect for young hunters. Mossy Oak is one of the top brands in hunter clothing, and their tux looks like it could be worn out in the woods. The entire thing is done in camo colors and pairs very well with a black button up shirt.
